~ Purpose ~

The Ship Energy Efficiency Management Plan (SEEMP) is an International Maritime Organization (IMO) initiative designed to support improved energy efficiency and the reduction of greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions from ships. Its primary objectives are to reduce the environmental impact of maritime operations, optimise fuel consumption, and improve overall operational efficiency. As the maritime industry continues to transition towards more sustainable practices, effective implementation of the SEEMP plays an important role in promoting environmentally responsible shipping.


~ Objectives ~

Participants will gain an understanding of how to implement and apply the SEEMP in everyday vessel operations. The course covers practical strategies for improving energy efficiency, optimising fuel consumption, and reducing associated GHG emissions. Participants will also learn about effective voyage planning, weather routing, and speed optimisation, as well as the importance of monitoring operational performance and identifying opportunities for improvement. Particular emphasis is placed on adopting efficient operating practices that support regulatory compliance, reduce fuel costs, and minimise the environmental footprint of maritime activities.
