SafeGulf Orientation - ONLINE

~ Purpose ~

SafeGulf Orientation is a fundamental safety training course designed for personnel working in the offshore oil and gas industry. It provides essential safety information that workers need to understand before entering the workplace and while carrying out their assigned duties. Incidents and lost-time injuries (LTIs) can occur when personnel are unaware of workplace hazards or fail to follow established safety procedures. This course introduces participants to common offshore hazards, essential safety requirements, and recognised safe working practices relevant to offshore oil and gas operations and similar industrial environments.

~ Objectives ~

The main objective of this course is to promote a strong safety culture and help protect all personnel working in potentially hazardous environments. Participants will become familiar with key life-saving rules, applicable safety requirements, hazard identification, risk awareness, and industry best practices. The course also emphasises individual responsibility, compliance with established procedures, and the importance of recognising unsafe acts and conditions. Particular attention is given to the appropriate use of Stop Work Authority, ensuring that participants understand when and how to stop an activity that may compromise the safety of themselves or others. Safety must always take priority over operational pressures, and shortcuts that compromise safety are never acceptable.
