~ Purpose ~

Respiratory Protective Equipment (RPE) is a type of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) designed to protect individuals from inhaling hazardous substances that may pose a risk to their health. In working environments where personnel may be exposed to fumes, dust, gases, vapours, or other airborne contaminants, selecting and using the appropriate RPE is essential. Proper equipment selection, correct fitting, and adherence to established safety procedures help reduce exposure and prevent work-related respiratory injuries and illnesses.

~ Objectives ~

Participants will learn to identify respiratory hazards and understand the risks associated with the incorrect selection, fitting, or use of RPE. The course covers the correct procedures for donning and removing respiratory protective equipment, checking its fit and condition, and applying safe working practices. Participants will also gain an understanding of RPE inspection, cleaning, storage, and maintenance requirements.
