~ Purpose ~

Port State Control (PSC) is the inspection of foreign ships in national ports to verify that the condition of the ship and its equipment comply with the requirements of international regulations and that the ship is manned and operated in compliance with these rules. PSC inspections are crucial to determine shortcomings on vessel’s or crew’s safety. This course is intendent for inspectors and as well seafarers to understand inspection process and where attention should be paid during the process.

After the course participants will get to know PSC inspections and its proper execution: international laws that are bind to it, reporting requirements, vessel’s and crew’s certification, detention of the ship how is handled, etc.
