Lifting and Rigging - ONLINE

~ Purpose ~

Lifting and rigging involve the safe planning, preparation, securing, and movement of loads using cranes, hoists, slings, and other lifting equipment. These operations require a thorough understanding of load characteristics, weight calculations, equipment selection, rigging techniques, and established safety procedures. Riggers and crane operators must work in close coordination to ensure that lifting activities are carried out safely and efficiently, minimizing the risk of accidents, equipment damage, and serious injury.

~ Objectives ~

The aim of this course is to ensure that participants understand the key requirements for safe hoisting and lifting operations and develop the practical skills necessary to perform their assigned duties competently. Participants will learn how to direct crane operations using standard hand signals and radio communication, inspect lifting equipment and accessories, recognize defects and apply appropriate discard criteria, carry out safe slinging and rigging operations, and select and use lifting equipment according to the load and task requirements. Particular emphasis is placed on risk assessment, effective communication, adherence to established procedures, and the safe execution of lifting operations.
