~ Purpose ~

The International Ship and Port Facility Security (ISPS) Code forms part of the international maritime security framework established under the International Convention for the Safety of Life at Sea (SOLAS), 1974, as amended. It establishes requirements and procedures designed to enhance the security of ships, port facilities, and relevant government authorities against security threats. This course is designed to provide personnel working in the maritime sector with essential knowledge of and familiarization with the ISPS Code, its requirements, and its practical application in daily operations.


~ Objectives ~

Participants will gain an understanding of the security measures and procedures established under the ISPS Code and learn how to apply them effectively within their everyday operational responsibilities. The course covers security awareness, personnel responsibilities, access control, the identification and reporting of security threats, and compliance with applicable ship and port facility security procedures. Particular emphasis is placed on integrating security practices into routine operations, maintaining situational awareness, and contributing to the safety and security of personnel, vessels, and port facilities both onboard and ashore.
